Contributions from individual supporters like you assist the GCDF in bringing pay-what-you-can programming to the streets and parks of Guelph, low-cost workshops to public schools and cutting-edge contemporary dance performances to Guelph.

Stability ($1 - $99)

The Monica Davis Camp Scholarship Fund

Monica Davis (1931-2009) was a passionate and caring woman who saw the true value of the arts in our community. She was an active volunteer with the Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival for many years and avidly supported various other charities with both cultural and child poverty mandates. She was a mother, a grandmother and a wonderful role-model who never gave up on making the world a tiny bit better.

To continue her legacy of supporting young people and the arts, the Monica Davis Camp Scholarship Fund was established in 2009 to allow young people who may otherwise not be able to, an opportunity to attend the Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival's Arts Explosion Camps at a subsidized rate. Through this fund, her memory lives on, inspiring young people to be creative in everything they do.

Being part of a community that embraces the arts in a non-competitive atmosphere enhances the creativity and growth in our community's young people while improving self-esteem, self-expression and self-confidence. The fund has already started to see donations and was able to subsidize 4 spaces at our Summer Camp in July 2009.

How to Donate

Online

Donations can be made online by credit card through CanadaHelps.org Consider making a monthly donation: $5 a month (the cost of a lunch out) amounts to a $60 charitable tax receipt for you in December. Your monthly commitment will allow us to plan ahead, knowing that your support will be there to keep dance open and accessible in our community. Cash or Cheque

Donations by cash or cheque can be dropped off or mailed to the GCDF office:

For all donors: Full address information is required to issue a charitable tax receipt. Please indicate at the time of donation if you wish to remain anonymous or if you would like your donation to be dedicated to the Monica Davis Scholarship Fund.
