The In The Studio series features works that are best presented in smaller venues, much like our In the Gallery series, which was presented in a variety of settings around Guelph. These works are personal, intimate, and beautiful and demonstrate a high level of artistry and skill.

SINK (2012)
SINK is part of the triptych SINK-BUBBLE-BOX, a new project of solos by Lina Cruz. SINK is the first of these solos to be created—the other two will be developed in 2012. Props as intimate objects is a fundamental part of Cruz’s work. SINK was found in the garbage in an alley. "He’s has been waiting in the basement and now he is out and leading the ball!" SINK was created thanks to the financial support of Le Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec and Le Conseil des Arts de Montréal.

UPdown(2011)
“In my dreams, I can fly—as soon as I realize (in my dream) that I’m flying, I fall and just before hitting the ground, I wake up.”
UPdown (a duet) attempts to reinvigorate subliminal desires that concentrate on “up” and “down”, the essential dynamic that governs a myriad of choreographic choices—a constant morphing metaphor that delivers profound results.
